Joseph Daniel "Joey" Votto (born September 10, 1983), Canadian-born first baseman for the Cincinnati Reds. He made his MLB debut with the Reds in 2007.
Votto is a four-time MLB All-Star and a four-time Tip O'Neill Award winner. In 2010, he won the National League (NL) MVP Award, the NL Hank Aaron Award, and the Lou Marsh Trophy as Canada's athlete of the year. Until 1 week ago (August 17th, 2015), Votto was the only active MLB player to have a career statline of .300/.400/.500. He's one of the best hitters that baseball has seen in the past 30 years.
He's also my favorite MLB player. I wanted to try something new when a chance to meet Votto was presented to me and I opted for a 4-foot tall (my tallest painting yet) full batting-stance pose of Votto preparing his swing.
