It was the 2012 Fantasy Football season. I was desperate for some wide receiver production and took a gamble on a Jaguars wide receiver who showed some flashes. That player was Cecil Shorts. He had a great 2012 season and I enjoyed watching him play. Then I started following him on Twitter and learned about his high moral character: how many NFL players spend their Saturday evenings at church? He was an easy player to respect. I tweeted Shorts and asked if he would be willing to sign a painting next time he was in town to play the Colts if I painted it. He tweeted back and said he would be happy to, then asked if I would do a painting for him too. We were supposed to meet downtown in Week 17 of the 2013 season but Cecil had surgery a week before that and couldn't make the trip. So we ended up meeting November 21st when the Jaguars were in Indy to play the Colts. The plan was for me to paint 2 paintings of him: one for me to keep and one for him to have in exchange for a signed pair of game cleats and gloves. This print is of the 2nd painting of him.
This original piece is a whopping 30x40" canvas.

This painting took me 54 hours to complete.

Available in 20x30" glossy print or canvas. All prints come artist-signed with the ink color of your choice. Canvases are ready to hang and stretched on thick 1.5 inch wooden frames.
